Alien Covenant

Alien Covenant

It is not just Ridley Scott but even I don't personally believe that humans are just a mere by-product of a molecular evolution over a very long period of time. Earth has trillions and trillions of species on board but rape exists only in one species and that is humans is one, not a rejectable reason why I think Humans don't belong to this planet which has so many other "cultured" species possessing the right qualities to co-exists in this wonderful planet.

I personally liked the point in the film where the two protagonists discuss that a creator would always create something that doesn't come in way of his own survival. The basic 3 Rules with which Robots are created is one fine example for this. If we are Gods to Robots and in order to ensure robots are always under us we have laid restrictions in its directives, then why God himself would not have done the same to us? As a 'restricted' species, how are we expecting to reveal god or his elements when he has purposefully restricted us?

Ridley Scott says we all are 'restricted' species by design in such a way that we don't step in the way of the one who created us all. Interesting. Isn't it? Most importantly, he says, we don't belong to this planet and that if there are aliens around then we are the ones.

Supporting to this, is the survival of David in the rouge planet because almost half of all that roams around in that planet are engineered by him and to take his experiments and creations to the next level, David pretends to be Walter and takes over Covenant ship to the new habitable planet which is at 7-years-of-cryogenic-sleep distance.

If you have already seen Prometheus and Aliens vs predators movies, the ugly creatures that appear all through the movie would not surprise or shock you much. In fact, as a sci-fi movie, Alien Covenant is not that difficult to understand too as it has nothing to do with warping, alternate timelines, black holes, worm holes and so many other quantum physics terminologies. But showing the same ugly creatures this time, in white color doesn't  make much of a difference.

I don't understand the point when the ugly alien was stuck in that huge transport vehicle and fell off the ship. If you notice, it doesn't fall as if it falls in space which is nothing but vacuum. Ideally, it should follow the ship because technically it was a part of the ship until fall and therefore it should have retained the same velocity since in vacuum there is no resistance to a speeding object.

Any speeding object in vacuum continues to drift away in the same speed because there is no medium at all. How does it fall? In space, mass doesn't matter except gravity and warping. Right?

One other thing I didn't understand was when their sensors picked up a signal in a planet which is only weeks away, they immediately choose to check it out and the moment the expedition group lands, they roam around the land with no masks or any concern about the breathable atmosphere or anything like that. How is that possible?

Neglecting all these, Alien Covenant was a worth-watching sci-fi movie. I love Sci-fi and I should agree, it was worth for the 11 dollars.
